Project participants included residents as well as people who had businesses or worked in the project zone. Intergenerational and diverse, participants ranged from recent move-ins to someone who was born in the neighborhood and grew up in it. Each made a set of statements about their “factual” histories in the area, and feelings and views about the neighborhood, including what they think about its future. These personal statements were compiled into composite Declarations that borrow ironically from the language of legal documents to create complex collective statements that show the multiple realities in the changing neighborhood.
